All CANPEX UV Plus tubing is marked with the name VPFL as the manufacturer, nominal size, plastic tubing material designation code PEX 5306 (indicating that the PEX tubing has been tested and meets the F876 requirements for maximum chlorine resistance at the end use condition of 100% @140°F, and the highest allowed UV rating against outdoor exposure), design pressure and temperature ratings, relevant ASTM standards, manufacturing date and production code, as well as NSF-pw stamp (indicating third-party certification by NSF International for meeting and exceeding performance and toxicological standards, as well as achieving the highest chlorine and UV resistance rating in the PEX industry).

NSF conducts random on site inspections of the manufacturing facilities and independently tests CANPEX UV Plus tubing for compliance with physical, performance, and toxicological standards. CANPEX UV Plus is also certified to meet the Uniform Plumbing Code, NSF 14/61, NSF Annex G (Lead Free), CSA (Canadian Standards Association)B137.5 (cNSF), ULC/UL (Underwriters Laboratory) S101/UL263 and ULC S102 through Warnock Hersey.
Single Layer PEX 5306

Smart colour-coded CANPEX™ UV Plus in sizes ranging from 1/4" to 2" is Vanguard’s latest innovation in PEX tubing with a class leading PEX 5306 listing. It’s the first single layer PEX pipe with the effectiveness of a multi-layer pipe.

CANPEX UV Plus provides 100% continuous hot water recirculation up to 140°F and includes a metal deactivation additive to protect against polymer degradation as well as maximum protection against UV radiation.

By taking all the benefits of typical multi-layer tubing, and combining them into a single layer UV resistant PEX pipe, Vanguard ensures that when the product is exposed to UV radiation—it will retain both its physical properties and its long-term chlorine/ORP resistance at the highest level in the industry today. Translation: you don’t need a black layer to ensure UV and chlorine protection.

Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipe is flexible, durable and proven through more than 30 years of use throughout Europe in hot and cold potable water distribution systems. Most manufacturers have only met the minimum chlorine-resistance requirement. Vanguard’s CANPEX UV Plus goes the extra distance. It has UV protection, chlorine resistance, metal deactivation and lead-free formulation, with all of the same features installers look for in a PEX tubing product, including:
  • Faster, easier and more economical installation
  • Corrosion and freeze damage resistance
  • Safe, chemical-free installation which is lead-free
  • Resistance to scaling and pitting
  • Protection against polymer degradation with a metal deactivation additive
  • Ability to use traditional tools and fittings used in standard PEX installations
  • Flexibility to reduce the number of fittings required in the system when using proven and reliable brass or plastic fittings
Available in 1/4" through 2" sizes in coils as well as 20 ft straight lengths, and incrementally marked, CANPEX UV Plus is also available in a MANAPAC tubing package which contains 2 - 500 ft coils of 3/8" or 2 – 300 ft coils of 1/2" tubing on disposable reels to facilitate installation.

CANPEX UV Plus is CTS-OD sized (Copper Tube Size, outside diameter controlled) with an SDR-9 (Standard Dimension Ratio) wall thickness which yields maximum pressure/temperature ratings of 100 psi @ 180° F and 160 psi @ 73° F, and is certified to ASTM F876 and F877.
