CANPEX™

CANPEX™ Cross-linked Polyethylene (PEX)

CANPEX™ (cross-linked polyethylene) tubing is flexible, durable and proven through more than 20 years of use throughout Europe. CANPEX™ is recommended for use in hot and cold water distribution and hydronic heating systems.

CANPEX™, white, red, or blue in color, is available in 1/4" through 2" sizes in coils as well as 20 ft. straight lengths and incrementally marked on coils of 500 ft. or greater. Red and blue CANPEX™ tubing offers the benefit of color coding for easy identification of hot and cold lines.

CANPEX™ is available in a MANAPAC tubing package which contains 2 - 500 ft. coils of 3/8" CANPEX™ tubing on disposable reels.

CANPEX™ is CTS-OD sized (copper tube size, outside diameter controlled) with an SDR-9 (Standard Dimension Ratio) wall thickness which yields maximum pressure/temperature ratings of 100 psi @ 180° F and 160 psi @ 73° F. CANPEX™ is manufactured and third party certified to ASTM F876 and F877.

Cross-linking is a permanent chemical change that occurs in CANPEX™, giving it these advantages over other piping materials:

  • CANPEX™ is flexible and can be installed with fewer directional fittings in less time, and at less expense, than rigid plumbing systems.

  • CANPEX™ can stretch to accommodate the expansion of freezing water and then return to its original size when water thaws. Although CANPEX™ is highly freeze-break resistant, no material is freeze-break proof.

  • CANPEX™ offers superior chemical and environmental stress crack resistance.

  • CANPEX™ tubing connected with the Brass Insert Fittings system is one of the fastest joining systems in Canada.

For applications not listed, consult with your Vanguard Pipe & Fittings Ltd. representative. CANPEX™ is a superior alternative to copper for plumbing systems.
